I am going on my final trip in Indonesia next week before moving away. A solo trip to Solo. My first time going away without my son since he was born, and my last trip in my 9 years living in Asia before moving to Europe. I am going with my friend, Puji, who is an Indonesian dancer- also from Solo, she is taking over for me as dance teacher next year. I am hoping to meet Prapto, but even if it doesn’t happen, just watching his videos and reading about his dance style is moving me. I plan to see Wayang Orang, which I believe originates from his Amerta Movement style and Wayang Buddha. Wayang means puppet and Orang is human.

I feel a strong magnetism towards stone. I’m interested in learning about the history of places through the raw story told in landforms. Growing up in Utah, Arizona and Colorado, the exposed rock of the high desert and mountains has captivated me. I love seeing the earth from high above in an airplane and watching the patterns shift gradually on a macro and micro scale.
