My dream state is seeing the world as symbols, abstractions, archetypal images…
I started my dance with my daughter, as the joy I feel to know her is like being in a dream,
Sometimes I feel physical waves of bliss undulate through me to be in the presence of such a pure and delightful being! Is this a dream?
I connect most with the dream state in nature. Like a trance, I breathe in the place, the moment.
I can share this with my children too when I am so at peace.
It is easy to disconnect from the dream when caught up with daily tasks and frustrations with the children “making things difficult”, the business of daily life.
But stepping back, the pure dream of life is always there.
When I climb the mountain
When I feel the rain or wind on my face
When cold air or sharp stone grabs me and pulls me back
I feel alive
I feel I am dreaming
Animals, clouds, plants, stars pass through me.
I am nothing. I am everything, and I have memories from an animal mind.
I think I know something, I knew something, I forgot
Animal instincts sharpen then twirl away.
Stars overhead, molten core beneath
My consciousness a drifting between awake and asleep
Knowing, not knowing
Dreaming.
